Battlescar is a VR narrative experience directed by Nico Casavecchia & Martin Allais, and Produced by Atlas V, Arte,1st Ave Machine, Albyon

1978 New York City. Lupe, a Puerto Rican American 16 year old, meets Debbie on the cell of a juvenile detention center. Debbie will introduce Lupe to the punk rock scene of the Lower East Side a̶n̶d̶ t̶h̶e̶ s̶e̶c̶r̶e̶t̶ w̶o̶r̶l̶d̶s̶ o̶f̶ A̶l̶p̶h̶a̶b̶e̶t̶ C̶i̶t̶y̶. 

I was part of this fantastic project as a lighting artist, with the main challenge of capturing a luminous aesthetic so particular in this places at this time, and restore it in the more stylised way according to the possibilities of VR.
Constantly looking for the right balance between heavy darkness, to get completely lost in it , and vivid colorfull neon lights, putting a raw light on the characters in their initiatory trip. 
I mostly worked on the 2nd and 3rd of the three episodes, and here are some of my favorite shots in terms of lighting. Hope you enjoy it !
